Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic

Essential Functions

• Inspect mobile heavy equipment pinpointing operating deficiencies and excessive machine and/or component wear.
• Routinely dismantle, rebuild, adjust and repair primary systems (drive train, hydraulic, fuel, air, brake, pneumatic, electrical, steering, suspension, exhaust) on mobile heavy equipment and highway legal trucks and trailers.
• Provide shop foreman time estimates, inventory of parts or special tools required to complete assigned project.
• Using an established checklist, prove all repairs and workmanship done on machines, trucks or other equipment were properly completed and the item is fully operational and prepared to mobilize for productive work.
• Complete and submit accurate work orders.
• Perform minor fabrication, alterations and repairs to equipment using MIG, TIG and oxygen/acetylene welding and cutting equipment.
• Operate various equipment including forklifts, trucks and heavy equipment.
