Responsibilities
- Performs training, scheduling, oversight, and journey-level mechanical work analyzing and diagnosing problems; inspecting; and replacing and/or repairing defective parts for the Fleet Management Division.
- Functions as a lead. Instructs, assigns, and oversees the work of lower-level mechanics.
- Ensures quality control, adherence to safety procedures, and proper assignment of repairs based on Division priorities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and five (5) years experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid Florida Class B CDL with Air Brakes required.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence), EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician), and Automotive Manufacture certifications required.
- Certified Natural Gas Inspector required within three (3) months of employment.
