About the role
We are seeking experienced heavy equipment maintenance professionals interested in joining our team in the specialized repair of aviation ground support equipment (GSE).
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain a diverse range of gas and diesel powered vehicles including forklifts, k-loaders, generators, deicers, fuel trucks, tugs, and others.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing on technical matters to both internal and external customers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Change light and heavy-duty tires and wheels, work independently, and perform tasks at heights.
- Lift and move objects up to 75 pounds as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Three (3) years of industrial and/or commercial maintenance work experience.
- Basic arc and/or mig and acetylene welding, troubleshooting and repair of gas and diesel engines, automatic/manual transmissions and drive trains, hydraulic systems, battery operated equipment and related components.
- Basic computer skills.
- Complete set of mechanics tools appropriate for vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in all above areas.
- Ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces.
Preferred Skills
- Six (6) months formal approved technical training/schooling in automotive maintenance or truck/implement devices.
- Two (2) years’ experience with industrial and/or commercial and/or commercial vehicle/equipment servicing and minor repair.
- Prior military AGE/GSE experience.
- Typing skills and Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
