About the role

At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at our rental facility in Huntsville, AL. This role is part of a dynamic team committed to transforming the construction industry through innovative technology and exceptional service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, assign, and monitor work orders
  • Track machine service intervals
  • Order parts and diagnose issues using real-time data
  • Practice safe job practices for repairs
  • Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed
  • Absorb and assist in training lower-level technicians
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
  • Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment
  • Maintain a clean and professional service vehicle

Other Duties, Assigned as Needed

  • Participate in company-provided training
  • Contribute to team-building activities
  • Engage in community service

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential for overtime pay after 40 hours worked. On-call scheduling may apply with additional compensation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or trade school certificate preferred
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and schematics
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
  • Physical ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be clean-shaven for certain customer sites (preferred)
  • Must pass a 10-panel drug screen
  • Position is safety-sensitive
