About the role

At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at our rental facility in Williston, ND. This role is part of a dynamic team committed to transforming an industry that’s been stuck in the past.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, assign, and monitor work orders
  • Track machine service intervals
  • Order parts
  • Diagnose issues using real-time data from hundreds of makes and models
  • Practice safe job practices for repairs
  • Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed
  • Absorb and train lower-level technicians as needed
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
  • Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment
  • Maintain a clean and professional service vehicle

Other Duties, Assigned as Needed

  • Additional tasks as directed by management

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. On-call scheduling with additional compensation provided.

Skills & Qualifications Required

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
  • High School diploma or trade school certificate preferred
  • Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
  • Physical requirements: Move, stand, stoop, bend, lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be clean-shaven for certain customer sites (preferred)
  • Safe job practices and OSHA requirements (preferred)
  • On-call scheduling and additional compensation (preferred)
