Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

About the role

At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at our rental facility in La Vergne, TN. This role is part of a dynamic team committed to transforming the construction industry through innovative technology and exceptional service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create, assign, and monitor work orders
  • Track machine service intervals
  • Order parts
  • Diagnose issues using real-time data from hundreds of makes and models
  • Practice safe job practices for repairs
  • Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed
  • Absorb and train lower-level technicians as needed
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred)
  • Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment
  • Maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner

Other Duties, Assigned as Needed

  • Additional tasks as directed by management

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential for overtime pay after 40 hours worked. On-call scheduling with additional compensation provided.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
  • Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must be clean-shaven for certain customer sites (preferred)
  • Must pass a 10-panel drug screen
  • This is a safety-sensitive position and requires passing a background check

Skills

  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
