Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at our rental facility in Huntsville, AL. This role is part of a dynamic team committed to transforming an industry stuck in the past with innovative technology, real-time support, and a caring team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create, assign, and monitor work orders
- Track machine service intervals
- Order parts
- Diagnose issues using real-time data from hundreds of makes and models
- Practice safe job practices for repairs
- Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
- Aid in the training of lower-level technicians
- Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
- Stay updated on OSHA requirements (preferred)
- Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance (when required)
Other Duties, Assigned as Needed
- Additional tasks as directed by supervisors
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. On-call scheduling with additional compensation provided.

Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
- High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Physical requirements: Move, stand, stoop, and bend freely; lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be clean-shaven for certain customer sites (preferred)
- This is a safety-sensitive position, and an offer of employment is contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen
