Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

At EquipmentShare, we’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at our rental facility in Huntsville, AL. This role is part of a dynamic team committed to transforming an industry stuck in the past with innovative technology, real-time support, and a caring team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, assign, and monitor work orders
• Track machine service intervals
• Order parts
• Diagnose issues using real-time data from hundreds of makes and models
• Practice safe job practices for repairs
• Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Aid in the training of lower-level technicians
• Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work performed
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
• Stay updated on OSHA requirements (preferred)
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance (when required)

Other Duties, Assigned as Needed

• Additional tasks as directed by supervisors

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. On-call scheduling with additional compensation provided.

Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
• High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
• Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
• Physical requirements: Move, stand, stoop, and bend freely; lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Must be clean-shaven for certain customer sites (preferred)
• This is a safety-sensitive position, and an offer of employment is contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen
