Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic

About the role

Knife River is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Boise division. The position requires independent and team-based work, with occasional travel and exposure to extreme weather conditions. Benefits include a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair all phases of construction equipment
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Handle heavy paving equipment as needed
• Communicate effectively and document repairs
• Document and troubleshoot component issues

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience working with construction equipment
• Heavy paving equipment experience is a plus
• Ability to diagnose and repair components
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Certifications or technical school experience preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Pre-employment drug test and background check required
