Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic

About the role

Knife River is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Idaho Falls division. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience working with all phases of construction equipment, with heavy paving equipment experience being a plus. The position requires the ability to diagnose components, troubleshoot, repair, communicate, and document. Certifications and/or technical school experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair various types of construction equipment
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients
• Document repairs and maintenance activities
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Travel may be required
• Work in extreme weather conditions

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience working with construction equipment
• Heavy paving equipment experience is a plus
• Ability to diagnose and repair components
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Certifications and/or technical school experience preferred

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Physical ability to perform tasks in a construction environment

• Knowledge of construction equipment operation and maintenance

• Effective communication and documentation skills
