About the role

Yancey Bros. Co., established in 1914, serves as the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia, focusing on providing top-quality sales, parts, and service to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Works in a neat and orderly manner, maintaining a safe work environment and focusing on completing tasks safely.
  • Proficiently and accurately performs maintenance, diagnoses, and repairs.
  • Applies specific failure analysis techniques and procedures to determine root causes of failures and communicates this information to customers and office personnel.
  • Cares for and maintains customer machines/equipment to the highest standards and ensures co-workers do the same.
  • Writes full reports on findings from field service events with clear, concise information.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with customers regarding the status of their maintenance and/or repairs.
  • Willing to work overtime as required and available for after-hours calls.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participates in required safety programs and works in a safe manner.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Prior experience diagnosing and repairing school buses and Cummins engines.
  • Knowledge of tools applicable to the position.
  • A strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service.
  • The ability to take direction and work in a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
  • A good driving record.
  • A strong proactive attitude to problem-solving.
  • A high level of responsiveness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Technical degree or certification.
  • CDL license (not required).
