Heavy Civil/Heavy Highway Estimator

About the role

We are a top 75 ENR full-service heavy civil, heavy highway and industrial general contractor self-performing throughout North America - Transportation: railroads, bridges, highways and airports, dams, reservoirs, mines and pipelines. Our Salt Lake office is one of our most successful regions and we are seeking a Sr. Estimator to join our team. You’ll play a key role in developing competitive bids, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and shaping the strategies behind our project wins.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process from bid strategy through final submission
• Analyze drawings, specs, and proposals to develop accurate cost estimates
• Evaluate subcontractor quotes and ensure competitive pricing
• Prepare estimates for all stages of design
• Support project teams with budget, scope, and scheduling insights

Requirements

• 7+ years in heavy civil estimating or project management
• Strong background in public works
• Hands‑on experience with earthwork, utilities, bridges, and retaining walls

Skills

• Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, AutoCAD, Primavera, and MS Office
• Solid understanding of CPM scheduling and construction workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering or Construction Management preferred

Pay

$125,000 - $175,000 per year
