About the role
As a Heavy Assembler, you’ll assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts, components, subassemblies, and complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. You will fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, and repair units or products that fail to meet requirements.
Responsibilities
- Insert and/or attach sub-assemblies with appropriate hardware
- Attach complex sub-assemblies and/or parts with appropriate hardware
- Apply appropriate torque sequence and values
- Read and follow complex instructions
- Operate mobile equipment
- Maintain attendance within acceptable standards
- Activate the potential of our people, care for our customers, optimize operations, and integrate sustainability into daily practices and long-term strategy
- Promote a results-driven culture aligned with long-term value creation
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and hardware (e.g., bolts & nuts)
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
- Electrical wiring experience
- Ability to match sub-assembly to the final product
- Applicable Torque Certification from Arcosa (or ability to obtain)
- Up to 1 year of experience
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to bend, twist, and work in non-standard positions throughout the shift
Working Conditions
- Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas, as well as plant grounds
- May require work or maintenance coverage beyond normal hours, shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to tolerate high and low temperatures and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant

- Know and follow all safety rules and procedures
- Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned
