We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at Heathers Manor, a Transforming Age community in Crystal, MN. This role offers a supportive environment that values your unique talents and helps you achieve your career goals.
Responsibilities
- Play an important role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our residents and guests through high-quality meals, teamwork, and culinary creativity.
- Support the Chef and Culinary Director in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, staff collaboration, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Prepare delicious food that meets a variety of dietary needs.
- Conduct regular Quality Assurance Audits to ensure food is well-prepared and the kitchen is neat and organized.
- Ensure kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling, complying with King County and DSHS regulations.
- Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment vendors.
- Hire, orient, train, and evaluate kitchen staff.
- Assist with supervising utility and FOH staff as needed.
- Create a motivating environment that encourages team members to be involved, creative, and problem-solving.
- Act as Executive Chef in their absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience as a Chef/Kitchen Manager in a senior living community is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with staff and external constituents.
- Able to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
- Successful completion of recognized food safety courses.
- First Aid training and CPR training may be required in certain state/local jurisdictions.
- Completion of a background check. Drug screen, physical, TB test, and fingerprinting may be needed per state/local guidelines.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in culinary arts and experience in a senior living community setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations.
