Sous Chef (Senior Living)

Responsibilities
- Assists chef with planning, staffing, organizing and coordinating the preparation of all meals in all levels of care.
- Helps planning menus and menu cycles according to cultural and regional food preferences, and resident dietary guidelines.
- Adjusts recipes to appropriate yield.
- Maintains food quality and consistency, monitoring food temperatures, portion control, palatability, and attractiveness of food.
- Manages kitchen operations in a cost-effective manner, including labor actuals and inventorying food items monthly.
- Ensures compliance with resident dietary restrictions and observes/coaches cooking staff in fine points of cooking.
- Creates custom holiday menus and conducts regular Quality Assurance Audits.
- Practices all safety and loss prevention procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in culinary arts program preferred.
- Minimum of three years experience as a Chef/Kitchen Manager in a food service environment.
- Successful completion of recognized food safety course.
