About the role
Heather Young Architects is an award-winning architectural design firm known for distinctive design solutions. Located in Palo Alto, California, our portfolio includes commercial, small scale multi-family and single family residential projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with the project manager and design team in the development of the design with limited supervision
- Create preliminary and schematic design drawing packages for client presentations and design review boards
- Manage production, organization, and coordination of drawing sets with an exceptional standard of craft and quality
- Seek innovative approaches to communicate design ideas efficiently, effectively, and artfully using various software platforms
Requirements
- B Arch or M Arch degree from a NAAB accredited architecture program
- 3-6 years of experience in commercial and/or single family residential architecture
- Be eligible to work in California through existing right or active visa
- Knowledge of CBC and CRC standards, design, and detailing in Type V construction
- Strong design and project management skills
- Fully licensed or in a licensure track
- Fluent in several software programs, ArchiCAD (preferred)
- Thoughtful design skills and strong portfolio, including examples of construction drawings
- Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and self-management
