Heat Treater

Position Summary

The Heat Treater A-C position is located in Berlin, CT and is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical, and be able to work full-time, 40+ hours per week, rotating shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7am-7:30pm. This position is considered safety-sensitive due to the nature of the business and the heavy industrial market.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

• Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
• Operate, monitor, and ensure furnaces are operating per written procedures and customer requirements.
• Buys any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
• Promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks, as required, in support of production.
• Responsible for the care and treatment of customer's inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Physical & Mental Demands

• Standing for extended periods in an industrial environment.
• Bending, pulling, stooping, reaching.
• Lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Exposure to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
• Cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
• Able to hear in person and via phone.

Pay & Benefits Information

• Hourly pay range: $22 – $27 per hour.
• Starting pay determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
• Eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.

Additional Information

This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders. The role is eligible for benefits beginning on day 61 of employment.
