Heat Treat Operator - Lead (2nd Shift)

About the role

The Heat Treat Operator Lead position requires knowledge of IQ batch furnace operations and high school diploma or equivalent. The role involves operating heat treating equipment, following procedures, conducting tests, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, supervising and assisting newer team members, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operate heat treating equipment to harden and temper steel parts
• Follow established procedures to ensure the quality of the finished product
• Conduct tests to ensure parts meet specifications
• Monitor equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Supervise and assist newer team members
• Willingness to learn and work in other departments as needed
• Maintain supervision on operators when loads are being built and pictures are being taken

Requirements

• KNOWLEDGE OF IQ BATCH FURNACE REQUIRED
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of heat treating processes and equipment
• Ability to manage/supervise other employees
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Finish MTI Course on Level II Operator Training

Qualifications

• Ability to move lineup around in the department if jobs are not ready
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through the entire shift
• Able to be aware of surroundings for safety concerns
• Frequent standing on their feet for extended periods of time
• Occasional stooping and walking required
