Heat Treat Operator - Lead (2nd or 3rd Shift)

About the role

The Heat Treat Operator Lead position is available for 2nd or 3rd shift. This role operates heat treating equipment to harden and temper steel parts, follows established procedures to ensure product quality, and supervises and assists newer team members.

Responsibilities

• Operate heat treating equipment to harden and temper steel parts
• Follow established procedures to ensure the quality of the finished product
• Conduct tests to ensure parts meet specifications
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Supervise and assist newer team members
• Willingness to learn and work in other departments as needed
• Maintain supervision on operators when loads are being built and pictures are being taken
• MTI Training a PLUSSafety Sensitive Position

Requirements

• KNOWLEDGE OF IQ BATCH FURNACE REQUIRED
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of heat treating processes and equipment
• Ability to manage/supervise other employees
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Finish MTI Course on Level II Operator Training

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
• Ability to work in a variety of environments including the production floor and office
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through the entire shift
• Able to be aware of surroundings for safety concerns
