About the role
Based in Haltom City, the Inspector C will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Quality Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed. This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers’ inventory and, as such, will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform hardness and other tests and record results as required.
- Complete conformance and other related paperwork; perform shop audits and/or reviews as required.
- Report any deviation, problem, or irregularity to the supervisor or management.
- Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
- Perform other tasks as designated by the position.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one to two years in the heat treating industry or related field.
- Working knowledge of all testing equipment and terminology.
- Basic knowledge of commercial and aerospace materials and heat-treating equipment is desired.
- Experience reading/interpreting blueprints, detail-oriented, and possess manual dexterity.
- Ability to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or permanent resident cardholders.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Must be able to work in a sitting and standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.

Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- 1st shift - 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical. Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.
