About the role
Support heat treat processes and furnaces for aerospace components, ensuring quality and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Read complex specifications and ensure process adherence.
- Communicate with vendors.
- Investigate heat-treat related equipment failures to determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Work with Quality, Leadership, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering to maintain high-performing assets and processes.
- Identify potential failure modes and develop counteractions.
- Recommend critical spare parts.
- Recommend PMs and TPMs.
- Read and understand all critical internal and external documentation.
- Develop and update technical and detailed work instructions.
- Maintain audit-quality records.
- Engage with continuous improvement projects.
- Perform research for new technologies, assets, techniques, and/or processes.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with business needs.
Requirements
- A.S. or B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other relevant/related degree and minimum of three (3) years' experience working within a processing engineering role.
- OR HSD/GED and minimum of ten (10) years' experience working in a heat treat processing role.
- Minimum latitude for unreviewed action/decision making.
- Advanced level of mechanical aptitude and comprehension.
- Must be able to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and with customers and to communicate effectively either orally or in writing.
- Candidate MUST be a U.S. Person to comply with ITAR regulations.
- Exposure to NADCAP.
- Technical understanding of heat treat furnaces, heat treat controllers, heat treat processes, and quench methods.
