Heart Transplant / CV Surgery - Orlando, Florida

About the role

The AdventHealth Orlando, Florida is seeking a dynamic and energetic thoracic transplant surgeon to join their busy transplant program. The surgeon will collaborate with the existing cardiology transplant medical/care team to expand and sustain a high-quality heart transplant program.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the cardiology transplant medical/care team to develop and implement a robust heart transplant program.
• Participate in the comprehensive Transplant Institute, which includes both thoracic and abdominal transplant teams, performing over 50 hearts, 20 lungs, and 30-50 VAD’s annually.
• Work in a state-of-the-art 32-bed ECMO unit dedicated to cardio-thoracic transplant services.
• Engage with both private practice and employed models within the AdventHealth Heart, Lung and Vascular Institute (HLVI).
• Contribute to the HLVI's national rankings in cardiology, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, and open heart surgery volumes.

Requirements

• Board certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
• Thoracic transplant fellowship training.
• Interest in a large-volume program with advanced cardiac surgery, heart transplant, acute shock, heart failure, and mechanical circulatory support.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with various practice models.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Current Florida Medical License.
• Completion of a thoracic transplant fellowship.
