About the Role

The Heart Station EKG Tech provides technical support for the acquisition of cardiac tracings needed to diagnose or rule-out cardiac disease, including ECG 12 and 15 leads, Event Monitor, Holter Monitor, telemetry, or autonomic function testing. Additionally, this role provides direct patient care in an ambulatory setting through vital sign measurement and coordination of patient flow.

Schedule

Full-time | Nights (Sunday – Tuesday) | 36 hours per week | 3x12s | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Responsibilities

• Acquires interpretable electrocardiogram waveforms as requested by physicians or registered nurses for diagnostic events such as EKG 12 & 15 Lead, Holter Monitor, Event Monitor, and autonomic function testing.
• Assists in preliminary report findings accurately.
• Coordinates patient flow, including room utilization.
• Participates in the teaching of patients and families under the guidance of MD/RN: assesses readiness to learn and barriers to learning, provides information, and records teaching.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Technical Capabilities

• Cardiac Monitoring (Novice): Possesses fundamental proficiency to effectively monitor cardiac rhythms in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Data Interpretation (Novice): Demonstrates fundamental proficiency in data interpretation for practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Shows fundamental proficiency in medical terminology and documentation for practical applications of moderate difficulty.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1 year of relevant work experience.
