Full-time, 40 scheduled weekly hours
Compensation Range: $20.30 - $27.41 per hour
Responsibilities
- Provide and oversee audiological technical support.
- Support daily clinical operations, including the hearing aid dispensing program and cochlear implant program, and provide other administrative support.
- Participate in direct patient contact and interaction to triage hearing aid and/or cochlear implant problems and repairs.
- Process all new hearing aid orders and repair orders for multiple audiology locations.
- Run electroacoustic and listening tests on all new hearing aids when received.
- Prepare product bags with hearing aid, earmold(s), and batteries for audiologists.
- Charge hearing aids and related accessories in preparation for fitting/dispensing.
- Troubleshoot and repair hearing aids and/or earmolds daily, including providing in-office repairs for the walk-in clinic.
- Remain familiar with hearing aid accessories and replacement parts for resale at the walk-in clinic.
- Determine appropriate accessories required for various hearing aid manufacturers.
- Open/close audiology testing area daily, calibrate equipment, and provide infection control and sterilization for patient safety.
- Receive and process ACCESS-VR authorizations for audiology services and state aid applications.
- Manage stock of clinic supplies and organize/maintain supply of test forms in booths and chart-up pick station.
- Provide administrative support and back-up as needed.
- Prepare paperwork and submit hearing aid pre-approval requests for patients with Medicaid.
- Handle warranty and insurance verification for hearing aids and cochlear implants.
- Support and document hearing aids loaned out through the stock hearing aid loaner program.
- Manage and track stock, loaner, donated, and salvaged hearing aids.
- Manage all technical specifications documents from hearing aid manufacturers.
- Maintain pediatric and adult hearing aid information folders for patient distribution.
- Use NOAH software to create new patient files for hearing aids being dispensed and enter audiograms.
- Provide technical support for the Cochlear Implant Program, maintain CI patient database, process repairs, and new orders.
- Send information/questionnaires to potential candidates and order accessories for patients.
- Correspond with manufacturers and provide support to ENT providers and surgical schedulers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in office, medical office, customer service, or technical field involving answering phones, appointment scheduling, patient registration, or patient check-out.
- Associate's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with PCs, printers/copiers required.
- Experience working with audiologists and/or hearing aid dispensers preferred.
- Experience with Audiometers, tympanometers, Verifit, Noah-link, and Hi-Pro box preferred.
