Healthy Planet Analyst II
Position Summary
The Healthy Planet Analyst is a technology specialist responsible for the full analytics registry delivery cycle including requirements analysis, data profiling, component development, system configuration, report/dashboard design and quality assurance.
About the Role
This role focuses on projects and tasks assigned to the Population Health Systems Development team at Boston Medical Center to support the patient care and analytical needs of the BMC Health System, the ACO (Accountable Care Organization), and our Community Connect partners. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary team members, external customers, regulatory reporting bodies, and application vendors.
Responsibilities
- Profile and understand large amounts of Epic source data in Chronicles.
- Gather requirements from business and clinical stakeholders and translate into a registry and/or analytics solution.
- Build registries and associated components (rules, metrics, groupers, flowsheets, BPAs, Workbench reports, Radar dashboards, etc.)
- Work within the Epic build process (TXT and Hyperspace) and other department-approved configuration tools as needed.
- Provide ad-hoc level data analysis support to the team and external customers as needed.
- Recognize as a subject matter expert for Healthy Planet and maintain advanced knowledge of operational workflows supported by the application.
- Maintain day-to-day support and mentoring to end users who interact with the registries and/or any associated components.
- Take the initiative to learn new tools quickly and work independently to fulfill job duties with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Epic Healthy Planet and Compass Rose or EpicCare certification required.
- Epic Clarity Data Model and/or Caboodle Data Model certification a plus.
- 3-5 years’ relevant work experience as an EHR/Clinical Analyst required.
- Experience in a similar role in a hospital or health system preferred.
- SQL querying knowledge a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Care Management and Ambulatory clinical and operational workflows required.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Knowledge of dashboard development using Tableau or similar BI platform a plus.
- Strong written communication skills, including technical writing.
- Strong verbal communication skills while interacting with team members, other members within the IT department, and non-technical end users.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems often spanning multiple environments in a business area.
- Able to be a team player; flexible, friendly, congenial, and enthusiastic.

Benefits
Compensation Range: $71,500.00 - $104,000.00
