Healthcare Transportation Coordinator

About the role

We’re looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Healthcare Transportation Coordinator to join our team in Lakewood, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Cook up and schedule transportation for resident appointments, hospital visits, dialysis, admissions, discharges, and other approved trips
• Check transportation requests to make sure all necessary details are complete and accurate
• Handle daily and weekly driver schedules, making adjustments for unexpected changes
• Collaborate with external transportation providers about their availability, pickups, cancellations, and schedule updates
• Decide whether trips should be handled internally or outsourced based on timing, transport level, and operational needs
• Keep track of completed, canceled, rescheduled, and missed transports
• Inspect trip sheets, transportation logs, and vendor invoices for accuracy
• Assist with transportation billing reviews and documentation follow-ups
• Spot billing discrepancies, duplicate charges, and questionable invoices before they're approved
• Preserve organized transportation records and prepare reports as needed
• Monitor transportation costs and look for ways to cut down on unnecessary expenses
• Solve transportation issues like delays, missed pickups, and scheduling conflicts

Requirements

• Previous experience in transportation scheduling, dispatching, healthcare coordination, skilled nursing, or medical transportation
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience reviewing invoices, logs, billing records, or transportation documentation
• Comfortable handling schedule changes and urgent requests professionally and efficiently
