About the role

The Healthcare Specialist serves as the resident healthcare subject-matter expert for the NY/NJ team, driving sales and expanding market presence across hospitals, healthcare systems, and senior living facilities throughout the New York/New Jersey area. This role uncovers client needs and delivers tailored product solutions that transform healthcare environments by building strong relationships with end-users, A&D firms, dealers, and industry influencers.

Responsibilities

  • Client Acquisition and Relationship Management
    • Identify and target prospective clients through research and networking, including health systems, hospitals, senior living facilities, and other healthcare-related targets.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients within the healthcare segment.
    • Conduct regular client meetings to understand their requirements and present product solutions tailored to their specific needs.
  • Sales Strategy and Execution
    • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets.
    • Develop strategic sales plans and/or growth plans for specific end-user institutions.
    • Present, promote, and sell products using solid arguments to prospective and existing customers, focusing on end users, architectural/design firms, and dealers specializing in the healthcare market.
    • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to diverse client bases.
  • End User Engagement
    • Directly engage with end users to understand their specific needs and recommend appropriate furniture solutions.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and installation of products for end users.
    • Obtain feedback from end users to continuously improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.
    • Provide insight into new healthcare trends and modes of work to generate demand and help end users realize needs.
  • Dealer Management
    • Collaborate with dealerships to promote products and ensure they are well-versed in the product offerings.
    • Provide training, support, and marketing collateral to dealership partners to enhance their sales effectiveness.
    • Monitor dealership performance and assist in driving sales through co-marketing efforts and promotional activities.
  • Architectural and Design Firm Engagement
    • Work closely with healthcare-focused architectural and design firms to integrate products into their projects.
    • Provide design consultation and technical support to ensure product specifications meet project requirements.
    • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and design expos to build relationships and showcase products.
  • Market Analysis and Reporting
    • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
    • Provide timely reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Collaboration and Coordination
    • Work closely with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and seamless delivery of products and services.
    • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to optimize offerings and promotional strategies.
  • Achieve assigned sales goals and targets, including orders, shipment volumes, new/continued business, and margin percentage.

Requirements

  • Champions a collaborative territory approach by partnering with teammates, sharing market intelligence, coordinating customer strategies, and prioritizing team success to maximize territory performance.
  • Proven work experience as a Sales Representative or similar role, preferably in the furniture or design industry with a focus on the healthcare industry.
  • Experience working with dealerships, architectural/design firms, and end users is highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and CRM software; CET experience is a plus.
  • A deep understanding of the value and use of GPOs.
  • Experience working with Google Suite.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
  • Ability to travel as needed within the assigned territory.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • EDAC Certification is a plus.
