About the Role

The Project Manager - Healthcare provides strategic guidance for the compliant, safe, and efficient handling and processing of all waste streams contracted by the facility(s). This role ensures Stericycle's services meet service expectations, regulatory and safety compliance measures, and are delivered productively and profitably. Local travel is required, primarily day trips with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors operational efficiencies and ensures performance and cost goals are achieved using cost-tracking tools and invoice reviews.
  • Identifies and executes cost-reduction strategies while fulfilling contractual obligations.
  • Provides strategic consultative resources to hospital staff to manage all contracted waste streams safely and compliantly.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for managing all contracted waste streams.
  • Offers expert knowledge on regulations associated with waste streams (e.g., EPA, DOT, DEA, state, or local regulations).
  • Conducts customer surveys to identify compliance gaps and waste segregation opportunities using the Virtual Compliance Partner application.
  • Project manages the implementation of new compliance-based services, including tracking, coordinating, and communicating schedules and expectations to internal and external customers.
  • Develops and delivers customized training for contract implementation and maintenance.
  • Schedules and completes customer-facing activities focused on service satisfaction, relationship-building, and improving operational efficiencies and profitability.
  • Performs other assigned duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in the healthcare industry or equivalent project/customer management experience, demonstrating strong knowledge of medical waste issues and consultative skills.
  • Confidence in public speaking.
  • Functional experience with Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
  • On-site presence at customer locations and compliance with all mandatory immunization requirements imposed by customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare discipline or equivalent work experience, demonstrating detailed knowledge of OSHA, EPA-RCRA, U.S. DOT, or The Joint Commission Standards.
