Healthcare - Project Architect

About the role

HOK New York is seeking a Project Architect for its dynamic Healthcare practice. The ideal candidate will exercise independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, solve problems when encountered, and be accountable for project financial performance and team communication.

Responsibilities

• Issuance and content of deliverables, technical content of HOK documents, and coordination of disciplines including consultants and supervision of all staff producing documents.
• Implementation of Construction Phase Services in collaboration with the PM.
• Securing QA reviews and implementation of comments.
• Signing/sealing drawings as per requirement.
• Participation in and contribution to a culture of technical excellence.
• Leadership: Ensures the overall design intent of the project is incorporated into detailed documentation, monitors the design process, resolves technical issues, and sets the overall strategy for producing documents.
• Client Interface: Develops a positive relationship of trust with client leadership, communicates with client representatives, and provides technical support and project communications.
• Teamwork: Receives project direction, coordinates use and tracks shared electronic documentation, assists in planning and conducting work, attends on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings.
• Business Development: Participates in business development meetings targeting specified project, client or market opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years’ design experience.
• Previous experience working on large-scale Healthcare projects required.
• Licensed Architect with current registration in your region required.
• NCARB registration preferred.
• LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of healthcare design principles and standards.
• Experience with BIM and other relevant software.
• Ability to lead and mentor less experienced staff.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills

• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant software.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay

The typical salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000, based on experience, qualifications, education, and location.
