Manages or assists with the management of a predetermined portfolio of existing client relationships, including new credit, renewals, modifications, covenant compliance, and financial monitoring and reporting. Supports Relationship Managers with client and prospect loan needs, analysis (financial spreads, term sheets, commitment letters, documentation/closing), and all assigned duties.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new credit requests with moderate complexity, occasionally requiring limited assistance and additional oversight
  • Handle renewals and modifications of existing loans
  • Perform financial monitoring, reporting, and covenant compliance; assign quarterly risk ratings
  • Ensure all bank loan documentation is accurate and the Bank’s security interest in collateral is perfected
  • Process credit requests and renewals in a timely manner
  • Analyze and complete term loan reviews
  • Perform ongoing loan administration, file maintenance, and collection of financials with support from the primary Relationship Manager
  • Maintain updated, organized, and complete loan files (hardcopy and digital)
  • Engage in written and verbal communication to ensure completion of assigned projects
  • Cross-sell and deepen client relationships
  • Comply with all bank regulations for assigned job function; stay current on regulation changes
  • Follow all Bank policies, procedures, and compliance regulations; complete required annual or job-specific training
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations
  • May coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as a subject matter expert
  • Demonstrate and foster the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words
  • Take personal initiative and serve as a positive example for others
  • Support the Bank’s vision to become the “Business Bank of Choice”
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry work experience (required)
  • 2+ years of previous portfolio management experience (preferred)
  • Thorough understanding of complex accounting literature, regulations, practice, and theory; ability to apply this knowledge to daily activities
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Effective team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of and compliance with all bank credit policies and procedures
  • General understanding of commercial and real estate underwriting
  • Ability to engage and develop relationships with all internal bank departments

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $78,000 to $135,000. The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, with details provided during the recruitment process.

Schedule

Ability to work fully onsite at the posted location: 5885 Meadows Road, Suite 300, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. No travel required.

Benefit eligibility begins the first day of the month following the date of hire for associates regularly scheduled to work at least thirty hours weekly.
