Healthcare Portfolio Manager - Analyst

Wells Fargo is seeking an Analyst in Commercial Banking Specialized Industries - Healthcare to work in partnerships with deal teams that provide research, analysis, and underwriting to prepare recommendations to extend credit and monitor existing client relationships. The portfolio consists of corporate (primarily leveraged) and sponsor-backed portfolio companies in the healthcare space.

Responsibilities

  • Research complex financial and credit information for commercial businesses according to business unit standards.
  • Play an instrumental role in the deal process including due diligence, credit analysis, industry and business risk analysis, financial modeling, and projections in support of decision-making activities for loan underwriting, origination, and structuring for Middle Market and Mid-Corporate sized corporate or sponsor-backed portfolio companies in the healthcare space.
  • Exercise independent judgement while developing understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Work with risk, relationship managers, and credit to originate, monitor, and grow relationships.
  • Perform credit underwriting and origination, portfolio monitoring, renewals, and annual reviews.
  • Collaborate and consult with internal and external stakeholders to understand credit needs and represent the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Integrate AI tools into underwriting and portfolio workflows to streamline research, accelerate production, and drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Mid-Corporate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills including analyzing complex data.
  • Ability to perform in-depth commercial financial statement analysis.
  • Knowledge and understanding of debt and equity capital markets.
  • Underwriting experience.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including using Excel for financial analysis and projection modeling.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including ability to present to decision makers and customers in a professional and confident manner.
  • A BS/BA degree or higher.

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements.
  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. Individuals subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, including periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.
