Job Details

A highly regarded national healthcare and life sciences boutique is seeking an experienced Healthcare Regulatory Partner to join and help expand its established regulatory practice.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of relevant legal experience
  • Healthcare, pharmaceutical or life sciences regulatory experience required
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar required
  • Admission in New York or another jurisdiction is advantageous
  • Experience with healthcare fraud-and-abuse laws, including Stark and anti-kickback requirements
  • Excellent legal research, analytical and writing skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Ability to communicate sophisticated regulatory concepts clearly and practically
  • Portable business is not required
  • Experience involving telehealth, pharmacy regulation, drug-supply-chain requirements, healthcare licensing, corporate-practice-of-medicine restrictions or healthcare transactions would be particularly valuable

Representative Responsibilities

  • Advising healthcare and life sciences clients on complex regulatory and compliance matters
  • Structuring and evaluating business arrangements under the Stark Law, federal and state anti-kickback statutes and related regulations
  • Counseling clients on the False Claims Act, healthcare fraud statutes, HIPAA and patient-privacy requirements
  • Advising on corporate-practice-of-medicine restrictions, professional-practice requirements and telehealth regulations
  • Evaluating existing and proposed business models and recommending practical risk-mitigation strategies
  • Preparing change-of-ownership filings, licensing submissions and agency notifications
  • Advising pharmacies and life sciences organizations on federal and state drug-supply-chain requirements
  • Leading client relationships and supervising or mentoring junior attorneys
  • Producing thought leadership and participating in business-development initiatives
