Healthcare Innovation Director-Construction
About the Role
We are seeking a senior leader to drive healthcare innovation and growth within our construction management business by bridging business development, marketing, project development/preconstruction, and project delivery. This hybrid opportunity will blend marketing, project development, preconstruction, and project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Shape our healthcare go-to-market approach, originate and qualify opportunities, support strategy through pursuit, and partner with operations to deliver differentiated outcomes (cost, schedule, quality, safety, patient experience, and constructability).
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects, and trade partners; represent us at industry events.
- Lead or support client engagement: discovery, pain-point mapping, solution positioning, and value messaging.
- Help shape our healthcare brand in the CM market—what we stand for and how we differentiate.
- Drive early alignment on scope definition, allowances, contingencies, and cost certainty.
Requirements
- BS/BA in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field and 10 years of experience in construction management with significant healthcare experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
- Demonstrated success leading pursuits and/or preconstruction for complex programs (new build and renovations in occupied facilities).
- Proven ability to work across business development, marketing, and operations in a matrix environment.
- Strong understanding of healthcare construction constraints: phasing, infection prevention, interim life safety, AHJ coordination, MEP intensity, commissioning readiness.
- Expertise in estimating, scheduling, procurement strategy, risk management, and constructability.
- Familiarity with digital delivery tools (VDC/BIM, 4D/5D, cost platforms, field tech) and modern delivery approaches (lean, prefab).
- Executive presence with owners and clinical stakeholders; strong facilitation skills for workshops and alignment meetings.
- Ability to influence without authority; comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
- Experience with surgical suites, imaging, central utility plants, labs/clean environments, and complex MEP retrofits.
- Strong track record in negotiated work, account expansion, and repeat client delivery.
