Epitec is seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst to support healthcare analytics, reporting, and program performance initiatives. This role focuses on analyzing complex Medicaid and healthcare claims data, developing Power BI dashboards, performing SQL-based data analysis, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.
Employment Type: W2 Contract (long-term)
Work Environment: Fully Remote
Responsibilities
- Utilize SQL to transform, merge, cleanse, and analyze large healthcare datasets.
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models, visualizations, and reports.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for healthcare data sources, including:
- All Payer Claims Database (APCD)
- Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS)
- Ecosystem data sources
- Monitor program performance and develop reporting solutions for leadership and stakeholders.
- Validate data quality and ensure reporting accuracy.
- Coordinate with state staff and program stakeholders regarding enrollment and reporting requirements.
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within healthcare data.
- Support program development through data-driven recommendations.
- Manage multiple reporting projects and meet critical deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Health Policy
- Health Economics
- Statistics
- Medical Informatics
- Epidemiology
- Related quantitative field
- 3+ years of healthcare data analysis experience.
- Strong SQL development and data manipulation skills.
- Experience with:
- Power BI
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Access
- Healthcare performance measurement and reporting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a quantitative healthcare-related discipline.
- Experience with:
- Medicaid Claims Data
- Healthcare Claims Analytics
- Minimum Data Set (MDS)
- Complex Real-World Healthcare Data
- Deep understanding of Medicaid programs and reporting requirements.
- Public sector or government healthcare experience.
