About the role
The primary role of the Healthcare Coordinator (HC) is to partner with supported Dentists to help gain a financial commitment from the patient to start the best course of treatment with urgency.
Responsibilities
- Understand and utilize financial options to support case acceptance
- Educate patients on treatment choices
- Overcome common patient objections
- Proactively keep Dentist’s schedules productive
- Support each patient in a consultative and educational manner
- Create a Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) and Patients for Life (PFL)
- Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework
- Achieve proficiency in PDS system and tools, skills, and talents to assist patients in making the best possible decision for their unique wants and needs
- Execute the HC Handoff in partnership with each clinician on every exam patient
- Be a Subject Matter Expert on all available financial options to give patients choices to start dentistry that fits in their budget
- Obtain necessary insurance pre-authorizations for patients who need this prior to completing treatment
- Ensure the office is exemplifying the Comprehensive Care Model within the offices as well as referrals outside the office
- Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings and any other meetings as required
- Thoroughly understand business imperatives and how the role directly impacts metrics and results
- Become knowledgeable on the Mouth Body Connection and support clinical excellence through comprehensive patient care
- Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies; address others professionally and respectfully always
- Ensure Compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal and other regulatory bodies
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Prior course work or on-the-job training in the fields of dentistry, insurance, or business (preferred)
- Knowledge of office practices, technology applications and patient insurances

- Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the work
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentiality - Patient records
- Organized, detail-oriented individual able to work in a fast-paced environment
