About the role
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Atlanta, GA. The Healthcare Construction and Renovation Technician supports construction, renovation, and equipment installation projects in healthcare facilities. Responsibilities include preparing work areas, assisting with layout and measurements, and performing basic construction tasks under supervision. The role involves collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate work, minimize disruption to clinical operations, and maintain clean, safe job sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct visual inspections of work progress and document issues or discrepancies for follow-up.
- Assist with layout, measurements, and basic construction tasks under supervision.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines and healthcare facility safety standards.
- Use hand and power tools while following technical drawings and hospital-specific regulations.
- Adhere to infection control requirements in active hospital or clinical spaces.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate work and maintain clean, safe job sites.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in construction, safety, or trades are a plus.
- Previous experience in construction, renovation, or facilities maintenance, ideally in healthcare or similarly regulated environments.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and equipment installation instructions.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, including OSHA guidelines and healthcare facility safety standards.
- Experience or familiarity with inspection and building surveying to verify work quality and site conditions.
- Ability to apply planning and basic civil engineering concepts to support healthcare construction and renovation activities.
- Effective communication skills, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort working in active hospital or clinical spaces while following infection control protocols.
