About the role
This is a contract, fully onsite position based in Rock Island, IL. The Healthcare Billing Specialist will work for an area healthcare leader, handling a large backlog of invoices and ensuring prompt and accurate payments to vendors using established policies and procedures. As a new system is implemented, the specialist will need to be dependable and proactive in asking questions to refine processes accurately.
Responsibilities
- Utilize imaging system and verify invoices are accurately scanned and submitted into accounts payable workflow.
- Electronically route invoices for approval per established policies.
- Accept and process electronic invoices in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Participate in payment processing, including check printing and electronic payments, ensuring prompt payment of invoices featuring discounts.
- Communicate with vendors, Accounting, Purchasing, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Research vendor invoice and payment issues.
- Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Review vendor credit balances and refunds to ensure timely resolution.
- Assist with governmental reporting (e.g., 1099s).
- Aid with internal and external third-party audits of Accounts Payable information.
- Engage in process and system automation improvements.
- Adhere to proper internal controls to prevent significant errors and irregularities related to the assets of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience reading invoices.
- Basic computer skills, including creating PDFs and emailing files.
- 1+ years of data entry experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 1st shift core hours.
Pay
$21.00/hour.
