Work Schedule

  • 80% FTE
  • 32 hours per week
  • Day/Evening position with variable (8) eight, and (12) twelve-hour shifts
  • Every third weekend rotation required
  • Hours may vary based on operational needs of department
  • You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI

About the Role

Health unit coordinators play a key role on each unit, by providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients, families, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones
  • Organize files
  • Order supplies
  • Handle correspondence
  • Manage databases
  • Provide general support to patients, family members and other staff
  • Utilize excellent communication and organizational skills to support patient care
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to coordinate all aspects of patient care including patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records and perform other duties of a clerical nature

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required
  • 1 year of experience in a medical or customer service environment or experience of a similar nature Required
  • 1 year of experience in a medical environment Preferred
