Health Unit Coordinator – Med/Surg

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Mentor Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility offering enhanced access to Cleveland Clinic's top healthcare services. The Med/Surg Unit provides care to adult patients with various medical conditions or those preparing for or recovering from surgery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome, and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
• Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
• Absorb and process patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
• Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
• Assist with unit clerical functions and troubleshoot equipment failures, such as call systems, portable phones, WOWs, and other unit devices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year of experience in a customer service-related role
• Experience with typing, computer training, or equivalent coursework
• Some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids

Preferred qualifications

• College degree
• Microsoft Office experience

• Frequent data entry
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Normal or corrected speech, hearing, and vision
• Some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids

Pay

Pay Range:

• Minimum hourly: $18.25
• Maximum hourly: $24.95

Schedule

Evenings from 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., every other weekend and holiday.
