Health Tech - Full Time

About the role

The immediate supervisor is the Building School Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine health screenings.
• Assist in maintaining school health records.
• Assist in managing immunization data.
• Assist with the administration and management of medication.
• Administer minor first aid and call EMS when indicated.
• Follow Vallivue protocol and policy.
• Follow the guidance provided by the School Nurse.
• Complete designated skilled-care tasks such as g-tube feeds and catheterization.
• Maintain open communication with the School Nurse.
• Perform Health Office clerical duties.
• Inventory and restock supplies and equipment.
• Provide other related services as assigned.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Interest in the educational setting.
• Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed.
• Knowledgeable with computer systems.
• Works well with students, staff, and the public.
• Organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
• Maintain the confidentiality of staff and students.
• Willingness to take appropriate training for performance responsibilities, including but not limited to:
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Medication Administration Certification
• CNA or MA preferred.

Schedule

The position operates on a District classified calendar year and length of day; building assignments and daily schedule based on triage.
