The Roaring Fork School District (RFSD) is seeking a Health Teacher (0.5 FTE / 20 hours per week) for the 2026-2027 school year at Roaring Fork High School. This position reports to the Roaring Fork High School Principal and is classified as a Certified Exempt - Part-Time.

About the Role

The Health Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that meets the needs of all learners. The ideal candidate will build meaningful relationships with a diverse student body and bring enthusiasm and real-world relevance to the classroom.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • An active Colorado Teaching License in Health Education K-12 [or similar], or the ability to obtain one.
  • Effective teaching strategies to engage learners, including differentiation, lesson planning, and assessment.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • Tailoring teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with special needs.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools that support learning.

Qualifications

  • Education and Licencing Guidelines: Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution. An active Colorado Teaching License in Health Education K-12 [or similar] or the ability to obtain.

Ability to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment. Tailoring teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with special needs. Note: Employees who work less than 30 hours/week but more than 20 may choose to enroll in an RFSD insurance plan, but are not required to do so. If they choose to enroll, the employee is responsible for paying 50% of the District contribution.

Physical Requirements

  • May include standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Bend, stoop, and lift materials.
  • Reach for supplies on high shelves.
  • Use manual dexterity for tasks like writing and using technology.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with students.
  • Climb stairs in multi-level buildings.
