Community of Peace Academy is an urban public charter school located on the East Side of St. Paul, Minnesota, serving over 850 students in grades PreK to 12. We are seeking a Health and Wellness Teacher for grades 6-12. This is a specialist teacher position responsible for teaching three high school elective classes—two sections of health and one section of CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Skills—as well as three health and wellness classes for grades 6-8.
Responsibilities
- Teach three high school elective classes: two sections of health and one section of CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Skills.
- Teach three health and wellness classes for grades 6-8.
- Develop rapport with young learners of diverse backgrounds.
- Support students in attaining high academic and ethical standards of performance.
- Implement Responsive Classroom (Elementary School) and Developmental Designs (Middle and High School) strategies.
- Participate in weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and engage in frequent observation and coaching for professional growth.
Requirements
- Hold a Minnesota Teaching license in Health Education.
- Demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students succeed.
