Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, standards-aligned lessons for middle and high school students.
- Incorporate a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, hands-on activities, and technology-based tools.
- Address critical topics such as mental health, physical fitness, nutrition, human development, personal hygiene, substance abuse prevention, and decision-making skills.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse perspectives and encourages student engagement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and emerging topics in health education.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and health-related school initiatives.
Requirements
Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not required. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Must hold a Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification. Must hold a current MDOE Criminal History Records Check.
