The Arcadia Family of Companies is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing senior living excellence. This position offers a rewarding entry-level role in healthcare, supporting our dedicated healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews meal tickets, prepares dining room for meals including cleaning/bussing tables, setting up utensils, preparing dishes to be sent to the kitchen;
  • Serves resident meals in a family style environment and delivers meals to resident rooms;
  • Takes and records the residents': Assigned ADL tasks including but not limiting to transfers, range of motion, passive range of motion and ambulation;
  • Vitals (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight, and respiration rates);
  • Intake and output of food and fluid;
  • Provides companion services according to service plan;
  • Observes and reports to Licensed Staff all changes in condition (including significant changes), behavior or whereabouts that may require intervention;
  • Makes sure the environment is safe and clean by assisting with laundry, changing bed linens; cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining wheelchairs;
  • Encourages participation in exercise classes, social and recreational activities;
  • Adheres to assigned work schedules and accurately uses the time and attendance system;
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and/or Quality Assurance Programs;
  • Interacts with clients and members in accordance with AFC’s mission, core values, mindsets and guideposts;
  • Exercises caution and good safety judgment in uncertain conditions or situations, and report and/or correct hazards, potential or actual;
  • Ensures that all resident rights and privacy are protected and enforced, and establishes and maintains a close liaison with clients, members’, and families.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in using a computer, which may include using such software as Vision or Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other applicable software applications.
  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
