Responsibilities

• Manage and evaluate the health care delivery program to ensure compliance with regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies.
• Oversee staff recruitment, orientation, performance evaluations, and continuing education programs.
• Monitor subcontracted services, medical records, and contracted provider performance for quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Review and manage serious inmate health cases, hospitalizations, and referrals while controlling costs and liabilities.
• Maintain communication with facility leadership, staff, and outside agencies, and promote quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: Delivery and administration of correctional medical, dental, and mental health care recommended.
• Administrative Experience: Three years of administrative, management, and supervisory experience.
• Skills: Sound decision-making skills are mandatory. Organizational experience in operations and planning is required. Experience in managing budgets and analyzing contracts is preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: CPR certification. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
