Health Science Teacher

Role Description

The Health Science Teacher will design and deliver engaging health science curriculum to high school students, including instruction in foundational health concepts, medical terminology, and related science principles. Day-to-day responsibilities include lesson planning, classroom instruction, assessments, grading, and providing feedback that supports student growth. The teacher will maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment, align lessons with district and state standards, and collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administrators to support student success. Additional duties may include participating in professional development, communicating with families, and contributing to campus initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject/level assigned (must have Health Science or Health Science Technology, not Health Education).
• At least two years of full-time, wage-earning work experience as a licensed healthcare professional (RN, LVN, RRT, CMA, etc).
• Applicant will be responsible for any required immunizations(s) if assigned to a hospital rotation setting.
