Duties And Responsibilities
- Participates/assists in the development and implementation of safety programs related to Maintenance and Tolling activities, and other OSHA safety compliance programs.
- Advises the Operations & Maintenance, and ITS staff on safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of workers as regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), ANSI, and NFPA.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with various work activities.
- Assigns, develops and delivers training to employees on safety procedures, emergency response, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Affords assistance with ordering necessary safety supplies and equipment (PPE, etc.).
- Performs regular and follow-up inspections of facility, equipment, and work practices to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Supports response and closure of follow up items and corrective actions.
- Investigates incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine needed corrective actions.
- Maintains accurate records of all training, inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Supports management of emergency situations which include the development and implementation of emergency response plans, provide oversight for annual required drills, and spill response.
- Maintains compliance to safety protocols and requirements for subcontracted work.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Associates degree;
- At least 3 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Prior work experience in conducting safety audits and hazard assessments.
- Working knowledge of the OSHA 1910 General Industry Standard (OSHA 1926 knowledge preferred).
