HEALTH RECORDS TECHNICIAN TRAINEE
Main Purpose of Job:
The main purpose of this position is to provide clerical and support services at a trainee level, compiling and maintaining the health record system in accordance with Joint Commission standards, State and Federal laws, and other governing agencies’ standards.

Location: Springfield Hospital Center Health Information Services Department, 6655 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD 21784
Responsibilities
- Compile and maintain the health record system in accordance with Joint Commission standards, State and Federal laws, and other governing agencies’ standards.
- Provide clerical and support services at a trainee level.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
- Experience: None.
- Note: Candidates may substitute experience compiling and maintaining health records on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Special Requirements
- Candidates for this classification may be required to demonstrate the ability to type at a minimum speed of 20 words per minute.
