Responsibilities
- Assists physicians and other medical personnel in achieving timely, accurate, and complete documentation practices.
- Analyzes the assembled record for chart completion deficiencies, in accordance with regulatory requirements and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
- Assigns deficiencies to the appropriate medical staff member and notifies them of their accountability.
- Assists the medical staff member in completing their documentation efforts and carries out the suspension process if necessary.
- Reviews updated or added documentation and updates or clears chart completion deficiencies as appropriate.
- Answers telephone calls and assists visitors (including but not limited to physicians, patients, and their family members), while maintaining confidentiality.
- Supports the department needs through assistance in any of the Tech I, Release of Information, or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year health information management experience in acute care setting.
- Accurate alphabetic, numeric, and/or terminal-digit filing skills.
- Knowledge of terminal digit filing and medical terminology (preferred).
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements for medical staff documentation (preferred).
- Computer data entry with 10-key, with accurate typing speed of 35 wpm (preferred).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a medical terminology course (preferred).
- Background in business and office training (preferred).
Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $25.91. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
