About the Role

We are seeking a Health Promotion Program Lead (leveling dependent on experience) to join our Behavioral Science (BeSci) team. This role is for a behavior change specialist who will own the design of long-term health promotion programs and build an industry-leading content library. You’ll work across domains such as nutrition, sleep, movement, stress and mental wellbeing, and chronic condition management, while supporting the team's broader intervention architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Own Long-Term Program Design: Design, build, and continuously evolve multi-week and multi-month health promotion programs, grounded in health and wellness coaching best practices.
  • Co-Build an Industry-Leading Content Library: Alongside our Head of Content, create and curate a scalable library of coaching content—curricula, modules, exercises, and education—that becomes a durable competitive asset.
  • Ground Programs in Behavior Change Science: Apply COM-B, Self-Determination Theory (SDT), BCTTv1, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and habit formation models to program and content design to drive sustained behavior change.
  • Set Program and Content Standards: Define quality bars, style guides, and review/QA processes to ensure programs and content remain consistent, evidence-based, and coaching-informed as the library scales.
  • Iterate with Data: Use engagement data, outcome metrics, and user feedback to test and refine programs and content, closing the build-measure-learn loop.
  • Support the Intervention Architecture: Contribute to COM-B diagnosis logic, BCT selection rules, and the AI Coach behavioral logic layer; participate in weekly reviews to flag intervention misfires and champion fidelity to validated behavioral science frameworks.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with the Behavioral Designer, Behavioral Data Scientist, and Behavioral Analyst, and partner with Engineering and Product to translate program and content requirements into implementable specs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a national board-certified health and wellbeing coach, health promotion specialist, or applied behavioral scientist, with a demonstrated track record designing and shipping long-term behavior change or health promotion programs and coaching content at scale. Experience shipping digital health or wellness products is a plus.
  • Deep experience creating and/or curating long-term behavior change or health promotion programs, and designing the curriculum, architecture, and content library for health and wellness content across domains (e.g., nutrition, sleep, movement, stress and mental wellbeing, chronic condition management).
  • Deep grounding in health and wellness coaching best practices and core coaching competencies (e.g., NBHWC or ICF standards), including motivational interviewing and client-centered program design.
  • Master's or PhD in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Public Health, or a related field is strongly preferred. National Board Certified Health and Wellbeing Coach strongly preferred.
  • Deep fluency in COM-B, Self-Determination Theory (SDT), BCTTv1, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and habit formation models. Must have applied these frameworks in product contexts, not only academic ones.
  • Comfortable partnering with Product and Engineering to translate program and content requirements into specs. Familiarity with how behavioral signals are operationalized in data pipelines is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to write clear product specs, brief engineering teams, and present behavioral rationale to non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Strong comfort with quantitative data—able to read experiment results, interpret behavioral metrics, and collaborate with data scientists on measurement design.
  • Experience in digital health, wellness technology, or consumer behavior change products is required. Familiarity with wearable or connected device ecosystems is a plus.
  • Deep connections with domain experts and behavior change experts to help with content creation.
  • Highly motivated, low-ego; able to work across cultures, time zones, and languages; energized by cross-functional ambiguity. Comfortable operating in an industry pace where speed and scientific integrity must coexist.
