About the Role

The Orange County Health Care Agency is a dynamic organization dedicated to creating and supporting an environment that promotes the achievement of optimal individual, family and community health. Under the direction of the Agency Director, a new and dynamic executive team with an organizational structure comprised of four service areas - Behavioral Health, Medical and Institutional Health, Public Health, and Regulatory Health and is committed to meeting the health needs of the diverse Orange County community.

Responsibilities

• Provide planning and research support for two grant-funded studies of substance exposed babies.
• Aid in the planning and recruitment of the 18 birthing hospitals in Orange County and OB doctors who provide prenatal care for pregnant OC residents.
• Train hospital labor and delivery staff on the study protocol.
• Distribute and collect survey instruments, clean and process results.

Requirements

• Some Knowledge of: The principles and theories of management and other professional disciplines related to the area of assignment may be required.
• Ability To: Collect and evaluate information. Reason logically and define alternatives. Read and understand forms, documents and letters in technical language. Communicate effectively with other employees, the general public or other agencies. Follow complex written and oral instructions. Add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Compute and interpret percentages, means, medians and other elementary statistical measures. Use a microcomputer; calculator or ten-key adding machine. Use a County-approved means of transportation to travel to work sites.
